Do the Psychologists Here in Victoria Advocate a Person’s Wish to Die by Euthanasia?

Question by Jack Dwns 0421: Do the Psychologists here in Victoria advocate a person’s wish to die by Euthanasia?
I may sound out of whack to some people but I seem to be suffering from depression and grief over the nurturing and bonding I didn’t get as a child from my “parents” but mainly from my mum. At first, I didn’t mind this a long time ago since I was only a child who didn’t have the mental capacity to understand it all…except to repress the problem of not being loved that much by parents. I was given a rough upbringing by parents, where my dad would always blame me for things I may not have even done and has become a force of habit for him to blame me. He has also bossed me around on chores and put me down on my academic dreams by saying no, you can’t. at your mentality, you can’t. I was an enthusiastic student who used to be a mama’s boy.

My mum on the other hand just couldn’t care less for my personal development except to provide food and shelter for me. As a result of this I’m unable to express emotions when it comes to romantic love and have no foreseen an agonizingly lonely future and jealousy/envy for other people’s upbringing.

I’m nothing but a LOSER and a dreg on Society. I’m not asking to be nurtured or anything like that, no. That would be awkward from another person’s point of view and this only works on children. As what I have been told.

I’m only 21 and doing it hard in college since I have just realized this.
I don’t smoke, drink or do drugs but willing to introduce them to my lifestyle to alleviate mental problem(s) as a result of my rough upbringing. Or in the last resort…..Suicide by Carbon Monoxide or Nova 6 Gas. I have a Nissan Skyline GTR with a big Exhaust cannon that I can stick a flexible tube and then inserted into the window or sunroof. I have an R-35 Skyline but I don’t hoon in it. I just have it for show and tell, and always have it garaged most of the time.
I’m also suffering from an unrelated child abuse. It started somewhere in Adelaide.
Sometimes I wish my mum didn’t take those recommendations set out from a doctor before I was born. Her favourite number was 3 and wanted me to stand out from my siblings by stimulating development with sounds and nourishments while in utero and after birth. I was also her favourite but all changed when my 4th brother was born.

2nd child syndrome is a mental condition that affects some parents.
It’s because of her and those nourishments and such, I’m able to realise all this.

Has it occurred to you that your family life was not unusual? As more children come along it is harder for parents to cope, especially if there are financial difficulties – not that you mention this. But parents do whatever they need to do to get by, and do the best they can at the time. And children, once they become adults have the chance, the freedom, and the choice, to change the way they think and act. So it’s time for you to grow up, stop blaming your parents, and get out there and live your life.

Having read your previous posts, including ones under a different persona, I strongly suspect you have Asperger’s Syndrome. This would explain your inability to express emotion and form meaningful attachments, and your focus on a number of issues. But that’s just my assessment, I’m not a psychiatrist but speaking from some personal experience. I could be completely wrong, but whatever the reason, you need to sort this out, let go of past bad experiences (surprisingly we’ve all had them and survived) and do something positive. Keep on mind that the past has gone and cannot be changed, but you have the ability to change your present and future life – you have to do this, no one else can do it for you. It’s a bit daunting but you have a blank slate, so come up with some positive options.

Addiction to any substance will only make things worse and, to me anyway, suicide is the ultimate selfish act. The person who suicides might end their pain, but they cause a lifetime of pain for the family and friends left behind, which is so unfair and unwarranted.

My suggestion is that you see your GP or health professional early next week and ask for a referral to a psychiatrist as I feel a psychiatrist will be of more use to you than a psychologist.

And, to answer your initial question, euthanasia is illegal in Australia and health professionals are prohibited from offering it as a way out.
